"Publisher cannot convert this picture"

I get this error message when I try to insert or paste jpeg images into
Publisher 2000. The images load and view in the Insert Picture dialog box
when I select either All Picture Formats of JPEG File Interchange Format;
however, the filenames do not appear in the File name: window when I
highlight them in the list above.

Every .jpg image or only certain ones? From where are you copying the images, the
Internet? If your temporary Internet cache is full the copy will fail. In Internet
Explorer, tools, Internet options, delete files.
Joint Photographic Expert Group (JPEG) files are extremely compressed. In other
words, a JPEG file that has a file size of 300 kilobytes (K) might contain more than
25 MG of data.

Your filter maybe corrupt. You could rename the .jpg filter and drag a new instance
from your setup disk.
The graphic filters are in a folder similar to this:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Grphflt
Rename JPEGIM32.FLT to JPEGIM32.old.

Mary - thank you, thank you, thank you!! I have been looking for this
information in the microsoft kb, but to no avail. This is EXACTLY what I
needed (removing corrupt files from the common directory). Thank you again!!
