PWA not showing custom field value

B

Beth

[PS 2003]
I've created two task-level custom fields which are progress indicators for
schedule and duration. In the project plan in Project Professional the
fields are working properly and the graphical indicators are displayed. I've
created a PWA view for each of these custom fields. The fields appear in the
views with the appropriate titles, but no data is showing up in the fields.
I've tried Publish All Info, F9/Publish All, and Replublish Assignments
without success. I also have a third field which evaluates Actual Work
against the baseline which is displaying properly in its PWA view. (ie, they
are all task-level Enterprise Text custom fields) Any ideas?

Thanks much-
Beth

Did you add it in the Customized Published Fields dialog box from MS Project
Pro? You need to do that to.

Thank you for the response. I considered doing this, but chose not to based
on the fact that I have three Custom Text task-level fields, for only two of
which are showing this problem. The third is showing up in the PWA view
without having to add it to the customized published fields box. I'll give
it a try.

Thanks-
Beth

FYI- The published fields box was not the issue. For the two custom fields
mentioned below, I was using a set of parentheses in the field title which
was causing the problem. Once the parens were removed, the values show up
properly in the PWA view.

Your problem was certainly a brain teaser, and one which no one would have
asked, "Are you using special characters in the field name?" Thanks for
your persistance and for sharing the solution to this problem!
