I posted a topic several weeks ago about retrieving the Adobe settings when
converting a Word document to a PDF through a macro.

I don't want the user to have to enter a file name or a location for the
saved document and I want to set a password on the PDF as well.

The only answer provided was to work with the registry to retrieve/set this
information. I am unfamiliar with doing this. Can anyone help?

You may want to look at a set of vba functions called GetSetting,
SaveSetting, DeleteSetting and GetAllSettings. These manage settings in a
special location in the registry for use by vba applications. You determine
your own applciation name, section, and key values to organize among your
various vba apps, or uses of this registry location in general. One gotcha is
that, at least among past versions of office, if you try the GetSetting and
it does not exist, based on the appname, section and key, you may get an
error.

happy coding!

I have seen these functions but I don't know how to apply them with regard to
getting the Adobe settings -- do you know of any examples I can look at?
