Remaining Work by Quarter to excel

With the Task Usage View, I can see the Work for each summary task by
quarter. Now I need to figure out how to do the same thing with Remaining
Work.
I also need to know how I can export this to excel for reporting.

Thanks in advance,
Kathy

In Project 2007 you can't display remaining work in the task usage view. It
seems odd that you can't, but that is the way it is. You can determine
remaining work by comparing actual work to work (which = actual +
remaining). Display actual work by right-clicking on the right side and
select it from the context menu that appears.

If you are using Proj2003 or earlier use the Analyze timescaled data in
excel add-in to export to excel and then work with the data there to derive
remaining work (Work-Actual Work) or if you use Proj2007 use the visual
report function to do the same thing.

Thanks Jack. I'm using Proj2000 (if you can believe it - I have 2007 but
haven't installed yet). I tried to use Analyze timescaled data, but the
result in excel shows all zeroes for both work and actual work. Any idea
what I'm doing wrong? There's lots of work in this file, so I must be missing
something.

You have resources assigned to the tasks and the task usage view shows work?
Any filters being applied?

Resources are assigned, and yes, the task usage view shows work. No Filters
are being applied. I'm running Excel 2002 SP1 but only Project 2000. Is it
possible that this is a version difference problem?
