Resequeuce tasks changes dates ????

Hi,
I've got a project with a number of tasks that have dependencies.
I wanted to 're-arrange' the tasks so the Gantt looks a bit more clean and
tidy and hasn't got lines going all over the place.
I've looked at microsoft article that basically says "just drag & drop"

However, when I do this SOME of my tasks change their dates !!!!

Why is this happening and how can I stop it ?
In my scenario Task 28 has a predecessor of Task 132, however after dragging
to be by task 132 it also 'inherits' a new predecessor [task 131] even though
this has nothing to do with it.

Hi Dave,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

The dreaded Autolink strikes again! Tools/Options.../Schedule tab and
remove the tick from Autolink inserted or moved tasks. Then click the Set as
Default button.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)

MSP has some nice labour saving features [ if you can work out how to switch
them off when you need to !!!]
