resolution and run time error with hyperlink

I updated my Windows ME to XP and at the same time purchased FP 2003 to
update my FP2000.

I have had so many problems with FP 2003 and asked MS for help - the
solutions offered by MS support have been way off base.
I have had 2003 for 2 months now and haven't even been able to use it yet. I
have lost two jobs and am very upset - would like to get my money back. It
is a pitty because I absolutely loved FP 2000 that came with my office
premium edition.
Here are my two main issues:
PROBLEM ONE:
Every time I click on FP 2003 the resolution changes. and making it almost
impossible to work with it. Everything becomes HUGE. I go in and change
the resolution back to acceptable values. and it will keep it just for a
short period of time.. if I use some of the features the resolution changes
back I have gone into control pannel as administrator to apply changes.
right clicked FP2003 on start menu. I have even gone into FP2003 thru safe
mode. This change keeps happening.
PROBLEM TWO:
Every time I try to create a hyper link I get a run time error and the whole
thing closes down!
I'm going crazy here.. anyone have any insight into these two problems???
Thank You
RLM

When you upgraded to XP did you convert the file system to NTFS?
Also did you download and install all of the latest service packs and
updates for XP?
