Resource leveling

×

×רז

I have 2 tasks (30 days each one) with the same resource,
The tasks can start on the same day.
For the first tasks the resource is allocated in 50%
For the second task the resource is allocated in 100%

I have a resource allocation. For this specific period of time the resource
is allocated 150%.

If I will do resource leveling, task 2 will be placed after task 1.
That will cause that for the first 30 days the resource will only be
allocated 50% and the resource should has start to work on the second task.

What is the best way solving this problem?

Essentially, shorten the first task so that the resource is allocated
100% or lengthen the second so the resource is loaded to 50%.
Alternatively, apply a different resource.

Levelling will not do this for you automatically. There must be a
reason why you have assigned a resource at 50% and Project cannot know
what that is and therefore cannot sensibly change it.

You could change the Resource Leveling priorities by selecting
"Priority, Standard" under Tools, Resource Leveling. Then up the
priority of task 1. This should fix it without changing your desired
Resource Allocations.

Hope this helps in your world.

The PM has the intelligence not the software. You have shown you
would like to stretch one task so the challenge is to model that.
Change allocation to 50% and duration should stretch. If you are very
keen you could have 50% while two tasks are happening and then 100%
afterwards.
