Resource time reporting issue

Howdy!

I have the server set up with the default CAL license
count only (will be changed once we are far enough into
implementation to have a solid value to increase it to).

During my free experimentation phase, I easily got all
standard Project tasks performed.

I have since populated the Enterprise Resource Table from
our Outlook Address Book.

Now, I can (as a PM) make all the resource assignments I
want, and the resources are notified that it has happened,
but when I use a CAL to log in as the resource, I am
unable to report any time against the recently added
tasks. I CAN still add time to the tasks assigned during
the experimentation phase.

Is the server doing this to me in an attempt to enforce
licensing issues (NOT an issue in reality, though the
server sees 900+ resources compared to the 15 licenses it
was purchased with), or am I missing a setting flag
somewhere, or what?

I'm looking for any and all reasonable ideas people can
provide me.

Thank you for your time

Jeff --

I'm struggling with understanding your question, so let me ask some follow
up questions and then perhaps one of us can give you an answer:

1. When you log in as a resource, do you see the task assignments from the
new project?
2. If yes, when you look at the My Tasks page for that resource, which
columns are formatted white in the list of tasks on the left?

Let me know.

Yes.

The OLD task (from before the full resource import)
shows white during normally scheduled working days.

The NEW tasks show all dates grayed out.

This is my problem. I can get new tasks assigned, but
I can't report anything against them.

Well, that and managing to express myself clearly.

Did you change the tracking method on the new tasks?

Actually, Dale helped me . . ..

One of my co-implementors turned off forcing the server
settings on the projects, and then created the project
was fighting with to track by percent complete instead of
actual work accomplished.

And I hadn't seen it until Dale wlaked me into it.

Gotta love working as a team, right?

Thank you, gentlemen.
