Resource Units and change to schedule

Hello,

I have a part time resource who worked 10 hours per week on a project. Her
calendar was changed to reflect working 2 hours per day and her resource
units set to 100%. Recently, it was approved for her to increase to 20 hours
per week (effective 09/01/08). In the Resource Availability section I
increased her resource units to 200% for 09/01/08 - 12/31/09. Based on the
resource usage sheet, or some days past 09/01/08, she is now scheduled to
work 4 hours. For other days, however, she is still scheduled to work only 2.
Can you help me understand why this would be, and what I will need to do to
ensure that she is not under-utilized? I have tried leveling but it has not
helped.

Thank you for any insight you can provide :)

Hi,

Since her assignment uinits on each task are still 100% she'll only work on
each task for 100% of her 2 hours calendar. If she has 2 tasks the same day
you will see her work 200% be it 4 hours.
Leave the units to 100% and change her working calendar to 4 hours, that
will do.

Thank you for the explanation. I did as you suggested and it seemed to work.
I do have one question, however. In order to change the calendar to 4 hours,
I had to highlight each day of the month from 09/01/08-12/31/09 (because I
did not want to affect the working hours for past dates) as opposed to
selecting all Mondays, Tuesdays, etc. Was there an easier way for me to do
this?

Thanks again,

Bob Galloway
