Save word?

R

Richard Miller

Every time I save word in XP and open it, it always goes to the beginning. I
want to save it where I left off at so I don't have to scroll down each
time. I went to tools under options and then the save tab, but I don't know
which one it is and I'm not sure I'm in the right place? Does anyone know?

MS Office doesn't save position in word processing documents (at least I
never found an easy way, though some VBA scripting should do the job).
Open Office does save work position. (Actually, the beta 2.0 version
doesn't, but version 1.1.3 does. May have to do with the new document
format. I'll check it out).

To some it's a bug. To others it's a feature... (-8

Hi Richard,

Shift+F5 on opening a document returns to the last
editing position in MS Word. You can add an autoopen
macro to have it do so in each document.

You'll find information on both custom and built in Word
on the "keyboard shortcuts" in help

Oops...
Shift+F5 does work. I know I read about, and tested, some function key
combination a few months ago. Probably this one. Didn't work then, but
perfectly now. The fault is obviously mine.

I stand corrected! Thanks to Bob Buckland with the charming smile.
