Saving and Backup quests

i recently changed from 98 to XP when i open a document in word97 it
always now (since changing to XP) prompts "do you want to revert to
the saved <nameoffile>? yes/no" i was clicking "no"

but recently printed a doc that appeared to be missing some recent
edits... any ideas on this?

what exactly does revert mean i was choosing "no" my thinking was then
i would open most recently saved version... but now i am not so
sure...

is there a way to just have it open the most recently revised version
of the file... with no promplt as mentioned above?

also, when using backup feature the backup file goes to same folder as
th saved original... i would like to send backup to other hard
drive... is there a way to do this?
