Saving files from Office apps to Groove workspaces

We have a SharePoint 2007/Groove 2007 testing environment and are looking
for ways to integrate folder heirarchies. The question we have is whether
or not users can save files directly from the Save As dialogues (like in MS
Word, Excel, or PowerPoint) directly into the Groove workspace.

At present, it seems that users must first save to the hard drive, then go
into Groove and add to the workspace. Seems a bit inefficient...anyone have
any suggestions? Is this something deal with in Office 2007?

Hi DC -

No - the Save As.. stuff isn't linked to Groove, though it seems an obvious
feature for Office 2007.

Would the Groove 2007 Sharepoint Files tool work for you? I've used it to
sync files with Sharepoint and it worked well but we don't have a very
complex Sharepoint setup.

Generally I just use the New... menu item on the pop-up menu to create the
items. That way, I never have to think about saving the files to Groove since
they are already there.

I could see it being a great feature if Microsoft were to add an option of:
Groove To:
along with
Save As:
Send To:

For that matter, there could be a Send To: Groove <workspace>

Might be there in Office 2007 but I have not yet rolled up.
