Saving to CD from Publisher

Help! First time Publisher user... trying to do a rush school yearbook
project for 50 kids... I am using the Microsoft Office Package version, so
not full version of Publisher?, preinstalled on my computer with the Office
2003 package and Windows xp 2002 version OP.
When I try to save my 12 page project to D drive (which I use all the time
to save and to and from) it says:
"Incorrect Function" and then new box "You do not have access to the folder
"d". See your administrator for access to this folder."
HOW FRUSTRATION... I AM THE ADMINISTRATOR OF MY COMPUTER! ;-)
I am a total novice at comuters and programs/systems.
RUSH PROJECT... CAN ANYONE HELP?

Is your D drive a CD-ROM?

Also, is this really the exact error message:

"You do not have access to the folder "d".


Because a drive is denoted as D: or d:, usually not without the colon.

your CD-burning software.

move it to a disc, CD, to give it to the publisher. Remember I really have
no idea what I am doing... how do I use my CD burning software to do that?

Thank you for replying... no you are right... it does say d: Yes it is a
writeable, readable CD-ROM drive that my husband uses way more than I do for
burning picture and music CDs and I know he has used it to burn back-up
document discs too. HELP! What should I do next?

know that right?

Put a blank CD in your burner, fire up your burner software (dunno what you
have, cause you didn't say)...then you may have to read Help for your burner
software.

I assume you are burning to CD so you can take it to a printer?

burner software, and yes it is to get it to a publisher today! ;-) I will
check out that software and this is looking more promising every minute with
every helpful post.

Windows Media Player is not your CD-burning software. Look in Start |
All Programs for something like Roxio or Nero. Hard to say what software
you have. Maybe time for a call to your husband?

Windows has its own copy software. You should be able to drag and drop the file
onto an empty writable CD disk in the proper drive. Then click the drive in your
My Computer, File, write these files to CD.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU! It worked! I just dragged by document over to my
desktop, then clicked, 'send to' and clicked D: drive and then it opened the
Microsoft programing that walked me through it all and I just clicked 'write
these files to the CD in the D: drive'. IT WORKED!

Windows has its own copy software. You should be able to drag and drop the file
onto an empty writable CD disk in the proper drive. Then click the drive in your
My Computer, File, write these files to CD.
