scheduling query - task with ff dependency starting too late

Hi all, your help is much appreciated.

I have a task that has 2 days work. The first day can be started (in fact
should be) started directly following the completion of it's predecessor.

However the second day of the task is dependent on another task finishing
plus a lag of one day - i.e. the second day of this task can only be
completed after this other task is finished.

MS Project 2003 is scheduling the first day of the task to run 1 day before
the task with FF dependency ends.

What's the best way to get it to allocate the first day as soon as possible?

Hi,

By nature these are two tasks, not one task since "the second day" has a
different dependency.
Make it two one day tasks.

Hi Jan,

Thanks for your advice, I reached the same conclusion myself and have
successfully scheduled this now by splitting the task into 2.
