Security features in Outlook

One security feature in my Office Outlook (fully updated) is that it blocks
access to certain attachments to received messages. This is good and
appreciated, but occationally I receive messages from trusted sources with
attachments that I want to download to my computer.

Is there any way I can temporarily override the blocking and get that
attachment?

A second feature is that I am no longer able to access a web page through a
link in a recived message. This too is a good feature, but again I have some
situations where I would prefer to temporarily override also this feature.
What I do now is to just copy the link and paste it to the URL field in my
IE. Again the same question: Is there any way I can temporarily give myself
permission to access such links directly?

1) You can override it manually via the registry;

2) Links are only blocked when they are located in the Junk E-mail folder or
when they are marked as Phishing E-mails. In both cases, there is an info
bar at the top of the message informing you about that Outlook has blocked
the links and how to enable them.
If this is not the case, you probably have an issue with your default
browser not being properly registered in Windows. What happens when you try
to click on such links?

Thanks, this is like what I hoped for!

Procedure for unblocking attachments seems easy enough and I have sufficient
control of my machine to use that.
I am not sure that I understand the procedure for unblocking hyperlinks in
messages handled by Outlook equally well, but i shall do some tests and see
what happens. (I have Windows Vista Home premium and IE8 recently upgraded
from IE7)

Anyway, now I have an entry-point for my debugging!
