Setting default formatting for Task Bars

How do I set default formatting for Gantt bars? E.g., I
would like to have Resource Initials appear to the right
rather than Resource Names (the out-o-the-box setting).

Thanks!

Go to format menu, select bar styles, pick the bar style you want to modify
(it is probably the first one) and go to the text tab in the bottom half.
Choose the field you want to display.

Yes, but that just changes it for the currently selected
task. The next new task I create will come up with the
default setting (resource names), so I have to go in and
change it each time. How do I change the default setting?
It's probably a template setting, but I can't seem to find
where project keeps the template for a plain, blank
project.
