Shared db

Dan Sully

I have an Excel spreadsheet that accesses and Access database for several
different queries as I push buttons on the spreadsheet. I would like to be
able to have both the spreadsheet and the database open at the same time
while the spreadsheet does its thing. However, the spreadsheet complains
that the database is open exclusively.

How can make sure that the database is open shared and stays that way?

Thanks.

This may be a solution: In the Access database you
reference, select "Tools>Options>Advanced" and make sure
the "Default Open Mode" box has "Shared" selected."
Manually save the database and give it a try.
Hope it works. Jim
