Show percent complete of filtered view

Is there any way to show the percent complete of a group of tasks
shown through a filter?
That is, I have a project of about 300 tasks, all in subgroups. 9 or
10 of the tasks have been flagged, and appear in a view developed for
a senior executive who only wants to track those tasks. Is there a way
of getting the percent complete to reflect the total of those tasks,
rather than the whole project?

Make sure all the fields you want to show are visible. Do not use the
filter. Instead, Project/Group By/Customize Group By...

Choose your flag field as the grouping. After you have grouped, apply your
filter (or just collapse the "No Value" grouping).

To get back to the original: Project/Group By/No Group.

Thanks - this a useful tip, especially if Show Summary tasks is
checked. There are a few drawbacks: The indentation of the subtasks
gets lost, and there is no way that I can see to customize the title
of the group other than renaming the field, so I'm getting a
highlighted row that says "[My custom field name]:Yes". However, when
I'm ready to print, I could just take a look at the grouped view, read
the percent complete and then manually update the header of my regular
filtered view (which is a bit more readable).

To that end, I don't suppose there is a way to access the percent
complete of a group programatically? Perhaps I'll look into a VBA
option.
