similar tasks

I want to identify similar tasks across multiple projects. (I am using
Project Server 2003.) Is it possible to identify a task as a particular
type of task so that after the project is finished I can go back and look at
multiple projects to find out how much time was spent on tasks of a certain
type in each project?

For example, (in a software development project) if I have defined mulitple
tasks which track the time spent testing, I would like to be able to define
a task as a "Testing" task or some other type of task. What is the best way
I can do this?

Thanks,

Richard

Hi Richard,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

I would use one of the Text fields to contain a word that identifies that
type of task like Test. Then you can apply a filter where the text = Test.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)
