Status date

Hi,

Is there a way to show the status without updating the schedule (moving taks
etc)?

I have a situation where I am only interested in displaying the Status line
for presentation purposes, yet the MS Project 2003 keeps updating the
schedule automatically.

I don’t have the options Move end …Move start in calculation selected.

Thanks,

Hi Saviz
Why use Status Date? As, as soon as you insert a date in for Status Date,
Project will then status from that date on a Tools>Update Project or a
Reshedule Task.
Try leaving Status Date as NA and set Current Date to status your project
from the timesheet end-of period.

Thanks,
I think the approach you mentioned is better than using status date. Using
status date changes dates etc...and it is very time consuming to find where
all the changes have occured. I prefer like you said not using the Status
date and instead using the current date to perform individual task updates.

Of course in a perfect would using the update features of project would be
helpful, however thing rarely go as planned in project so I really dont
understand the value of using Status date for roject with hundreds of tasks.

Enough of writing :)...have a nice day.

Sorry but one thing, I already have a status date set in the past...when I
try to delete the date by typing NA and ok the project makes an update...
How can I delete the status date without triggering the update function?
