rober

hi again,

i still get an error trying to display and work with my FP html button :

"Error reading file.
Cannot open "wpe1.tmp": no such file or folder."

there is no such file and i have deleted all *.web and *.tmp including
hidden files, so i can't work with my html code as i have done - i have to
use wordpad...

Thanks to all,
Rob

What do you mean by "FP html button."

wpe1.tmp would be a temporary file created by FrontPage when you open a page for editing, so in
theory FrontPage shouldn't be looking for it when you try to open a page. It's what FrontPage uses
for the Undo feature while you are editing.

If you are using FP 2003 go here using windows Explorer and make sure the folder named
FrontPageTempDir exists, and if it does delete any and all files it may contain.

C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\FrontPageTempDir

You will need to copy and paste the above in your browser address bar to open the folder, because
it's a hidden folder in 2003.

If FP 2000 or 2002 look here instead:

C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Local Settings\Temp\FrontPageTempDir

Or, if you are using another drive instead of C:\ use these paths instead.

%userprofile%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\FrontPageTempDir

for 22003

or

\%userprofile%\Local Settings\Temp\FrontPageTempDir

for 2000 and 2002
