Task will not split

When I try to split a task, it extends instead of splitting. I have checked
to make sure the "Layout" box shows split task and also checked the Options
box to split in-progress tasks. Any other suggestions?

How did you try to split the task? With the mouse? Or putting zeros in the
Task Usage view?
