Tasks not able to finish on non working day

Hi there.

I've got a project scheduled and I've put in place calenders for different
resources. One particular resource has 21/10 and 22/10 as nondefault working
days.

I also have a task however, assigned to that resource which has a duration
of one day, a start of 20/10 but a finish of 23/10.

Does anyone know why project schedules in this way, and of any changes I can
make to this task finishes on 21/10, as it should?

Cheers

Shane,
First of all, a task that is 1 day duration and starts on 20/10 will not
finish on 23/10 - it will finish on 20/10. However a task that is 2 days
in duration and starts on 20/10 WILL finish on 23/10 if no resources
with a different working time calendar are assigned. When I try your
scenario (except with a 2 day task), the task finishes on 21/10.

Here's what I think may be happening. Select the task and go to
Project/Task Information/General tab. I'll bet the Calendar is set for
Standard and the option to ignore resource calendars is checked. That
will cause the task calendar to take precedence and leave the task
finish date as 23/10.
