trying to delete, instead get multiple copies

Help! I save pictures from an internet site to my documents, put them on my
webshots desktop, then I delete them from the my documents file. The photos
are in My Documents, Paint Shop Photos. I have done this before but now I
just get copies (i.e., copy2 of copy of). I have done this in the past and it
has worked well. I tried deleting one by one, but it still makes copies
instead of deleting. Any suggestions. Windows XP, Word 2002.

If you hold the ctrl key, select and move, even slightly, you will get a copy.
Instead, when you use the ctrl key, right-click, click delete.

Thank you for your answer, but that is what I was doing, and it had worked
previously. What I finally did was reboot and tried again and was able to
delete all the files. Thank you
