Trying to Recover PST File

I am trying to get back my personal folders after a hard drive
recovery; scanpst.exe sees the folders, and finds no errors. But when
I try to open the file, it attaches to a blank (new) email. Can
someone tell me what am I supposed to do with it? Is something
configured improperly? I've been searching the groups for hours, and
have tried the solutions suggested-
I know this topic has been beaten to death, but unfortunately none of
the solutions have helped me....

Thanks,
Michele

Are you opening the pst using the FILE menu in
Outlook and selecting OPEN then PERSONAL FOLDERS
FILE (.pst)...? You cannot just "click" on a pst and have it open.

Try looking on Sue Mosher's Slipstick site for more
information:
