I've upgraded to Office XP, but discovered that both
revisions and comments are handled vastly differently in
Word 2002 than in earlier versions. This makes Word 2002
useless for my purposes. So, I also installed the earlier
Word 2000, which I use continously. However, if I open
Word 2002, I go through an installation procedure, and if
I then go back and open Word 2000, I again go through an
installation procedure. I can live with this, but when I
go to update Office XP at the appropriate MS Website and
it scans for updates, it only finds updates for Office
2000, as though Office XP did not exist on my computer.
What can I do? Must I remove the Office 2000 version of
Word from my computer, then scan for Office XP updates,
and then reinstall Word 2000? Any input or experience with
running earlier versions of an office app jointly with a
newer version would be greatly appreciated.
