view shifting left

Hello,
this is more of an annoyance than issue with Project. In some schedules when
I type in the Predecessors column it stays where it's at. But, in other
schedules when I type in Predecessors column it shifts the view to left. I
guess it's so that I can see the column better, but than I can't see the task
names. Is there a way to make it stop?

If I've understood correctly, you can move the column (drag and drop) or
drag the separator further to the right?
