VISIO 2000 Ctrl-C Function

I can't seem to Copy the drawing using Ctrl-C or Edit-->
Copy anymore when using Visio 2000 on Windows XP
Professional. It was ok on Windows 2000. Anybody any
idea how i can copy the drawings?

I have visio 2000 on Windows XP and it works fine here. Are you sure that
you have the whole drawing selected before you attempt to copy? Otherwise I
have no other idea why it wouldn't work for you.

Well I select all, then i choose copy, either by Ctrl-C
or from the Edit option. Then the visio application
automatically exits.

Then i cannot re-open the visio drawing until I reboot my
pc. Anybody have any idea what's wrong?

Does Visio automatically exits if you just select one or two shapes and
Copy(ctrl-c)?
Maybe it is just one particular shape.
Can you also open a blank drawing, draw a rectangle and copy it?

It happens whenever I select any shape(s) (inclusive of
the suggestion below to open a blank drawing, draw
rectangle and copy) and Ctrl-C, or Copy the selected shape
(s).
