visual reports custom field measure in mdb but not excel

I created a local task custom field of type number and populated with data.
When I create a task usage visual report, the field is in the access .mdb.
However, I don't see it as a selection in the excel pivot table. How can I
make this measure visible in excel? Using project professional 2007 and
excel 2003.

Hello dln,

I don't have Project 2007 in front of me right now, so this is from memory.
I assume when you created the cube, you selected the custom field as you note
it is in the access db. After you've created the report, and added the task
fields to the pivot table, place your mouse on one of the tasks listed, click
your secondary (right mouse) button and choose "show properties in report".
Again, I don't have 2007 where I am right now, so the exact command name may
be slightly different.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Thanks for the quick response. I was able to display the custom measure,
once I selected the task dimension instead of one of my custom dimensions.
What I really wanted to do was sum the custom measure across the custom
dimensions. Thanks for your help.

Hi dln,

The custom number field you entered is not timephased so carrying it
as a summary value is not possible.

You certainly could add the number1 field outside of the pivot table.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
