Web Pages From XL

Paul W Smith

I can create web pages from XL and uploads them to a web site with issue.
However what I would like to do is be able to Email these web files to
colleagues.

My problem is that when I attached the HTML file to the Email when it is
viewed the graphic logo which is in the top corner of each page is just a
white box with a red cross in the corner.

Can anyone tell me how I create an HTML file that can be Emailed graphics
included.

HTML is a text-only format - it will never contain graphics (that's why
it's named HyperTEXT Markup Language). When XL creates a web page, it
puts graphics in a folder (with the name of the file) and creates links
in the HTML portion. To be able to email the graphics as well, send that
folder, too.

Another way: Put the graphics on a publicly available server and edit
the links to point to the graphics files on the server before mailing.

Hi Paul,
Depends on what you really want. If you just want the
HTML in an email and don't intend to install them somewhere you
can go to the HTML page as displayed Copy an area and paste
it into your EMAL if it is formatted for HTML. (Format, Rich Text (HTML)).

When you send it you will see in your sent file if you look at headers
(Properties, Source in Outlook Express) where you will see your HTML,
and your graphics all will be in your temporary internet file.

I am using Internet Explorer and Outlook Express on a PC. Don't know
where Outlook would fit in but I will email you and JE such an HTML
file section from my search.htm file below. External links will work.
Anybody else can test by copy the first few lines from search.htm below
as displayed in HTML and emailing to themselves.

Naturally the size will be larger than straight text.about 12 KB instead of
under 4KB. In reality every file will take up perhaps 4 KB so that means each
image will take up at least 4KB on your computer in your temporary internet file.
