What is Office XP?

Linn

Hi,

Just wondering if someone can tell me what Office XP is, is it the same as
Office 2002 or 2003? Or is it a different version? If so, where does it fit
into the order of the versions by release date?

Thanks,
Linn

Office XP is the same as Office 2003. Actually there is no such thing
as Office 2002. Its name is Office XP. Office XP is made up of Word
2003, Excel 2002, etc. The 2002 versions of the Office applications.

Oh, I see. So there really wasn't a release of Office 2002, they called it
Office XP. But I bet the Help|About of each product would report, for
example, Word 2002. That makes sense.

Thanks,
Linn

Sort of true.

Office XP is Office version 10. Office 2003 is version 11. Although Office
2003 writes the same file structure as Office XP, they are not the same.

Office 2003 is capable of being groupware (working with a server-base
application to collaborate on a single file), This is called Document
Workspace.

Office XP cannot do that. For more info, go here:

Yep, that's exactly correct.
