When I want to save file in office, it crashes ALL THE TIME

Whenever I wanna save a file in office 2003 (word/excel), it crashes and
program stops and sends an error to Microsoft.

It does this ONLY when I want to open a folder to put the file in there. So,
if I choose a defualt location I can save fine, but if I want to open a
spesific foler in My Documents or on desktop or anywhere else, it crashes...
it happens ALL THE TIME.

I have office 2003 on Windows 2000 SP4 and I have all the updates and
patches for both Windows and Office. This is SERIOUS PROBLEM and if I cannot
find a fix I have to got back to Office 2000!

Suggest you un-install then re-install Office ... sounds like something
corrupted.

Hope this is useful to you. Let us know.

Some viruses have caused issues such as this. I full virus scan with teh most
recent updates woudl be a good idea. Also Some spybots can corrupt registry
data that could also cause unstibility in many MS products. Run a full scan
for Spybots also.

The end all is to first run a repair on office. Help > Detect & Repair.
If that does not resolve your issue uninstall the entire application and all
of the components. Make sure save all your local outlook contacts and info
to a safe folder. If you have a local excahnger server you will not have to
worry about the global contacts. Export all your data to a PST file if you
can. Reboot and reinstall everything. Run the updates. If all works then
your back to normal.

Good Luck,
David
