why summary tasks show 99% completion when all of its detail task are 100%
completed.

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

I suspect you have a milestone or two which you haven't marked as 100%.
Filter for milestones and check %Complete field for them.

Thanks Glen. I have tried the 'obvious' already. But, thanks for your reply.
I actually figured out the solution. This is for summary tasks displaying
99% completion when their detailed tasks are 100% completed. This is the
result of having a resource at 0% on the summary tasks. The workaround is to
delete the resource from the summary task, then put it back.

In general: by defining details for summary tasks, nobody will be able to
understand what project will calculate ;-) Never do thinks like that...
