Will replacing office lose My Docs?

T

t0mg

I plan to uninstall the basic version of MS Office and replace it with MS
Office 2003.

Will the My Documents folder be lost when I uninstall?

I have a lot of iTunes music and I don't want it to go south.

Any recommendations?

Thanks !!

No.

You do not need to uninstall your current version of Office prior to
installing Office 2003. When you install Office 2003, the installer will
ask you if your want to delete prior version. If you choose Yes, the
installer will uninstall prior versions of the applications you are
installing with Office while retaining your settings and compatible
plug-ins.

Thanks Don. Does this mean that I say "yes," go ahead and uninstall, and the
iTunes are retained?

I understand that the music is stored in documents and
settings\t0mg\mydocuments\itunes\itunes music\artist\album\song-name.mp3

I don't understand if the music would be included in my "settings and
compatible plug-ins.

Thanks again for your help.

Yes. Installing or uninstalling Office does not effect any data files such
as your iTunes. However, you can have a major computer failure at any time
that can result in lost of your data. Hence, you should always have at
least a backup copy of your data files or a image of your computer.

The "settings" that I referred to are those for Office
