Word is creating a temp dir in
Documents&Settings\User.name\Local settings\Temp and
saving documents in it when you use the CTRL+S key
combination to save changes to a file.

Why does it not save it to the file that is opened.

If File > Save as.. is used then it will save it to the
specified location.

Is this normal for Word to save a document to the Temp Dir?
