Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel I've been able to correct this problem before with removing the Normal.dotm file, etc. and all the other suggestions on the forums, but now it seems to be persistent. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Here is the text of the error message:

It appears that Office is properly updated, but what about OS X?

What happens if you Repair Disk Permissions & restart your Mac?

Crash on quit has got to be either the Normal.dotm or the Preferences.

Re-name Normal.dotm. If that doesn't fix it, try:

1) If the following files exist, Remove or rename them:

~/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/Word Settings (10)

~/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/Word Settings (11)

~/Library/Preferences/com.Microsoft.Word.plist

2) ~/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/Office 2008 (the whole folder!)

Cheers

Thanks for the responses, but I've already tried all of the steps listed in both posts. When I repair disk permissions, it still doesn't help. I've also deleted the mentioned files and folders.

Oh! Sorry... Brain fade... Have you got EndNote installed?

If you have, crash on quit is normal operation :)

If you disable Cite While You Write by removing the CWYW add-in, it won't
happen.

Sorry: I forgot about that one...

Hope this Helps

Ah ha...yes, I use EndNote extensively. I guess that explains it. Thanks so much for the help.
