word locking up

I have seen this problem posted before but there hasn't
been any working solution to my knowledge and I am having
the same problem. Word locks up in the middle of typing
a document. It opens fine but while editing a document
it freezes - most of the time using a template but it has
happened without as well. I have to use Task Manager to
end the application. THis is extremely frustrating - does
anyone have an answer ?? Thanks.

Turn off Voice Recognition, Uninstall Handwriting Recognition and empty your
username temp folder (Documents and Settings/username/Local Settings/temp
which should be empty when all applications are closed).

I did what you said and it did not help - still locks up.
Any other suggestions ?
