Word minimizes to taskbar and wont restore

I am running word 2000 on Vista 64 bit. Recently when opening word it
minimizes to the taskbar but will not open, maximize or restore. I removed
Office 2000, re-installed and downloaded SP 2 and 3 but the problem is still
the same. Does anyone have a solution. Excel and all other Office 2000
programs run normally.

Possibly it is maximising off screen. Try opening 2 documents, then click
into the Taskbar and select one of the cascade options. Then both documents
should show us and allow you to move them back into the correct position
again. Sometimes selecting the Move option lets you bring back the errant
document using the arrow keys.

Terry thank you very much for the prompt response. We have dual monitors in
operations and I forgot to mention this.....Your suggested was bang on....the
lost document had been pulled to the second screen but the document border
was just slightly visible on the right side of the main monitor. Since our
desktop background is almost the same color as the borders of the
document....its perimeter blended in to the background and was easily missed.
The "move" function revealed this and then of course the cascade resolved
the missing stuff.....once again...many thanks for your input....
