Word problem

My daughter downloaded a document from her school library.
The document now appears every time she opens word. It
cannot be deleted or cut. The text can be erased, and new
text added and saved as a new or different document. But
it comes back as soon as she tries to use word again.

To date we have deleted word and reloaded it several
times, have done numerous virus scans and have tried to
isolate the file through changing the extension names,
changing the attributes and moving the file to a different
location and deleting all templates.

Nothing helps.

Everything you've done so far has been in vain because reinstalling does not
overwrite Normal.dot. See
