Assigning Resources

J

JP

Hello, my environment is non-Enterprise 2003 Standard, which I use to manage
a resource pool of around 30 resources across a couple dozen projects (sharer
files).

I've done some preliminary looking, but would like the group's opinion on
this question: can I assign a resource to a project - not individual tasks -
at say, an allocation of 75%?

Thanks in advance,
JP

Hi JP,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

The simple answer is - Yes. I would create a hammok task to span the
project and assign to that. Please see FAQ Item: 19. Hammock Tasks.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)

Excellent! After a false start or two (it's interesting to see what happens
when you paste into a summary task's start date instead of a task) this did
the trick. Thanks, Mike!
