Error regarding installation & activation

The version of Office XP I had at work had an error every
two weeks or so. I tried to update, and our CD would not
allow for updates for some reason. Well then I tried
loading on my home copy of Office XP and now I'm locked
into a problem. Since I activated at home it won't let
me do it here at work. I'm in a countdown for the office
software I use every day. I tried uninstalling and
reinstalling with the original work copy to no success.
Any suggestions for me?

Uninstall it from your home computer, and then choose the telephone method
of activation at work. Explain the hardware change to the person on the
telephone, and they'll help you get it activated.

Is it possible to simply uninstall it here at work, erase
the registy changes that were made that are affecting it
here and then reinstall the original work version? I
just want to get rid of the countdown, and the errors
were simply a minor nuisance. This is a bit more.

Thanks again for your help.

No. The activation data is stored at Microsoft, not on your system. Even
formatting your system won't negate the fact that the software has already
been activated.

Use the telephone method of activation and explain the situation. They will
help you get it activated. This isn't really a big deal, unless you're
pirating software, which it doesn't appear you are doing.
