Excel copy doesn't keep text format when I Paste into Mail

Hi Guys. I have the following problem:

When I format some text/tables in Excel and I'd like to paste it into a
Mail (Entourage), then it just shows the text inside the table without
any color/format/table. It just looses any format it had before.

I have set the mail format in html in Entourage.

Does anybody have an idea how can I solve this? Is there something I
can configure on excel to copy in html formatit?

Thanks a lot in advance..

Regards.

Hold down the Shift key in Excel. That way you'll find the "Copy as Picture"
option in the "Edit" Menu. Then you can paste the resulting picure inside
your HTML message...

Thanks Bernard,

Is there a way to copy the excel text as Html source instead of
picture? The problem is that I also want to paste "editable"
information.

It's curiouse it works ok pasting to microsoft word, but doesn't work
on the mac applications..even on firefox html text inputs just copies
the text and no html format at all.

Thanks again for your help

Not that I know. I guess you'll have to send a workbook as attachment in
that case.

In Word, it copies as Word cells - keeping the format, but not the formulas,
only results. Well, if you feel that it is "editable" enough, you can then
send it from Word (through the "File" menu). That'll send a HTML formatted
message, the text remaining editable (once received, not while sending).

Bernard..again, thanks a lot for your help.

I was not clear enough with my problem..and this just comes to the
following:

I need to copy a formatted text/table from excel and paste into a web
page with an html editor control like this:

http://www.solmetra.com/spaw/demo/demo.php

It works great when I use excel on any windows machine...but on the mac
the situation is like the one I explained (even with Entourage).

If it doesn't work..is there any other control that you know should
work? the copy/paste from excel have worked great on windows...

I thought it was going to be easier :S

Again, thanks a lot for your help.

I see... Well this doesn't work at all on my Mac, I can only see the demo
within Virtual PC anyway.

I could reproduce things in Virtual PC. I guess this may have to do with the
fact that on the Windows side, Internet Explorer is very deeply logged
inside Windows, the situation on the Mac being different (not at all the
same technology at works). But this is just a guess, I'm not good enough at
HTML stuff.

If it doesn't work..is there any other control that you know should

Since the solmetra SPAW demo does not run at all on my Mac (10.46 / Safari
2.0.3) I have no idea how this could be done at all. It's beyond my
knowledge, I can only guess the limitations in copying the format may be by
design in the system... Let's hope someone else can tell you more.
