Excel ?!?!?

When one of our users opens Excel XP, the floppy drives spins up. This only
happens with Excel and none of the other office applications. I cleard the
recent files from the registry, but the floppy drive still spins up with or
without a disk in it. I tried logging on with a different user account to
see if it was just her profile, but it did the same thing on the other
account. I'm at a loss as to why this happens only with excel and none of
the other office apps. Anyone have any ideas as to why this is? I even
checked the default working folder in option and it is set to her my
documents folder. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Drat. I was hoping it'd be that easy. The only other things I can think of
right now are:

1) There is a switch in the in the Target box of the shortcut used to start
Excel, specifically this one: /p A: or something like that, in which case
the fix would be to delete that switch. Or perhaps A: is in the "Start in:"
box.

2) There is a macro doing that (but I know next to nothing about macros.)
From Help: To prevent macros from automatically running, hold down SHIFT
while you start Excel. Note: If you start Excel from the Office Shortcut
Bar, click the Microsoft Excel button on the Office Shortcut Bar first, and
then immediately hold down SHIFT while Excel starts.

Thanks, I'll give that a try. If it doesn't work, I guess she'll have to
get used to it.
