"file not available" message

I recently downloaded Office XP and ever since, I've been
unable to open ANY documents, whether they were saved to
my hard drive prior to installation or if they come as
attachments via emails. All I get is a message from the
office assistant saying that the file is unavailable.
What do I do...is there anything that will get my
documents back?

Disable the Office Plugin that comes with Symantec/Norton AntiVirus. See
