Help menu opens when launching Office Programs

When I open any of my Office 2003 Programs to a new document, the help
Microsoft Online Help Menu opens on the RH side of the document. It happens
for all Office products....ONLY when opening a new document. It does NOT do
it when opening EXISTING document. I cannot find out why....or how to 'turn
off' this function. Any suggestions? Thanks and Happy New Year.
