How do I set exclusive access for database?

Hi,

I have a Access 2000 db residing on a network drive. I
thought I set up the database so that only one user can
access it at a time. I went to the Tools-->Options--
Advanced where i set the default open mode to 'exclusive'.
However, my users have informed me that they were able to
log in to the database at the same time.... :(

HELP!!!

You need to set the exclusive mode on the each user's computer. This is an
Access Application setting, not a database file setting.

The only thing I can think of is to deny users create permission on the
network folder.
