Install 2003 Pro over Standard

Can Office 2003 Professional be installed over Office 2003 Standard. I
purchased Standard a few years ago and am wanting to upgrade to 2003
Professional. I have already purchased the Office 2003 Pro UPGRADE, but do
not know if I need to uninstall Standard or if I can just install
Professional over it. I am wanting to keep my emails and settings, but don't
know how. Thanks for reading.

It is your user account settings that hold the data, NOT the application
installation. (Found this out with an uninstall and a reinstallation.) To be
on the safe side, install everything out of Professional EXCEPT excel,
outlook, powerpoint, and word.

Good thought but in the long run it's more of a disadvantage to have a
mixed installation. Not only do you have to maintain multiple sets of
installation CDs but patching and updating the installations could be
difficult as well. It's best to use a single installation of Office.

I was under the impression the OP wanted to know the best method to
replace Office 2003 Standard with Office 2003 Professional and had a
qualifying product for the upgrade.

I guess we just have to hope that the OP reads our comments and follows up
so he doesn't end up disappointed.
