Is there a repository in Publisher?

Hi,

Someone told me there is some sort of a repository system in Publisher
whereby you can design and store components for your poster, say, that
can be used as canned components on other posters.

Is that true? What is this system called? Can someone point me at some
online instructions on how to go through this process?

Thanks, Scott

That may be it. So, I can save anything as a template? Or are there
certain kinds of objects that can be saved as such?

I suppose I am not clear on what the advantage of doing that is.
Meaning, why not just save my publisher file as a publisher file and
then make copies as needed and modify them and save them with a new
file name?

It turns out that what my friend was telling me about is called
Microsoft Office Publisher Design Gallery, the 'my objects' tag. I
guess I don't understand what tags are and what the my objects tag does
in particular. Do all custom-made objects go under the ruberic of 'my
objects tag'? Are these tags like HTML tags? I am really confused.

In your publication, insert, Design Gallery Object, my objects tab. The objects you
add to this area will stay with the current publication, they do not carry over to
other projects.
Select your image, insert, click add selection to Design Gallery.
