Moving tasks to status date

Even though under Project/Options/Calculation I have selected “move end of
completed parts back to status date†and “move start of remaining parts
forward to status dateâ€, the activities are not moved to the status date. Why
is this?

1) Project>Project Information>Status Date________________.
2)Tools>Tracking>Update Project>Reschedule Uncompleted Work to Start
After___________________.

These options are not triggered after the event. They are triggered when you
enter a new tracking data on the task.
