office 2003 word

I recently purchased 0ffice2003 as did the tec lab at
school. We are finding when we try to open an already
existing document that it takes a minute or longer to
open. also when a new document is created and you go to
close it it does the same thing. Takes about a minute to
close

Hi, susan sutton. If Norton Antivirus is installed on your computer, try disabling the Office Plugin that comes with it by clicking on Start | Programs | Norton | Options | Miscellaneous | uncheck the "Enable Office Plugin" box.

Hi, susan. I'm not aware that McAfee causes the behavior you're describing. Was Norton ever installed on your computer? Are you on a local area network?
